Installation takes just minutes and works with most garage door openers made after 1993, as long as they have photoelectric sensors that stay powered. Once set up, you get full remote access through the myQ app on iOS or Android, so you can open or close the door from anywhere and stop second-guessing whether you shut it. The hub connects via 2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth, and you'll need a router within 50 feet for best performance. One big advantage is sharing access with family members or friends while you're away, plus you can schedule automatic closes at night for added peace of mind. The system pairs with a wireless door sensor so you always know the door's status in real time. Note that this works best with sectional garage doors and isn't compatible with certain Chamberlain openers that have yellow learn buttons made between 2010 and 2021, or with Linear brand openers. If you need to monitor a second garage door, you can add an extra sensor separately. The hub is certified for use in the US and requires standard WiFi router specs to function properly.
