The contact sensors detect when doors and windows open or close, which is useful for security and peace of mind around your home. Each sensor has a built-in light detector that can trigger connected devices like lights when motion is detected in low-light conditions. The magnets align to the bottom of the sensor body and need to stay within 1.2 inches of each other to work properly. The Hub 2 is the command center that brings everything together. It includes a Swiss-made temperature and humidity sensor with high accuracy (within ±1.8% RH and ±0.36°F), plus a light sensor that adjusts the display brightness based on your room's lighting. WiFi connectivity means you can check temperature, humidity, and light readings from anywhere on your phone. The hub also learns infrared signals from your existing remotes, so you can control TVs, air conditioners, and other IR-equipped appliances through the app or voice commands with compatible smart speakers. One of the handier features is the ability to set up automation scenes based on sensor data. If temperature drops below a certain point or humidity gets too high, the hub can trigger actions automatically. Geofencing support lets you create location-based automations too, like turning on lights when you arrive home or adjusting the thermostat when you leave. All three contact sensors work seamlessly with the Hub 2, so you can monitor multiple entry points throughout your space.
